FCmaniac 07-31-2003 12:44 PM

Looks toight like tiger.. I need more red in my bay.

Man, I can't imagine trying to cut the holes with a dremel tool. That has got to take forever. I used a tool called a nibbler (sp?), and it took about 20 min to cut both holes.

Rotaryman88 07-31-2003 06:43 PM

Actually, I didn't even start cutting with a dremel...it died on me a few weeks ago. I haven't figured out what I'm gonna use to cut the hose now...I used a hack saw to cut the lil tabs on the bumper reinforcement mount, but other then that...i was able to bend or move most the other things in the way...

this kit was designed for a series5, but I dont see much difference, it should fit fine on my car...I'll get more pics later this weekend..right now its mounted, but no holes have been cut for the piping...i get paid tom...so i'll run to the store..see what they've got....

once everything is in place, i'm gonna figure out where i want my BOV welded in, and get that all setup...i am awaiting the arrival of my GReddy Type R BOV...i went w/ the standard spring for now...

and revvin, u dont want my hood...it blew sideways and and got a lil banged up, not to mention i discovered that a bolt was stripped off when the guy at the salvage yard removed it for me...so only 3 bolts hold it on, lol...i'm just gonna get a CF one...

Yea..its just a blue metallic paint, um..i think Krylon makes it, cant remember...

there is this other stuff they sell now that is better, but its more pricey, i picked mine up at autozone,lol..also got some 450degree clearcoat..hope it holds up!

Rob x-7 07-31-2003 08:15 PM

nice, does this thing run yet?

Apex13B 07-31-2003 08:26 PM

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683591.gif yeah what rob said

Rotaryman88 07-31-2003 09:15 PM

MMkay...the car does run, yet i am plauged by its shitty idle and i still need to work some small kinks out.

I bought some new plug wires because one of mine was cut into a little, and may be arching...also the gasket around the ACV blockoff plate has gotten loose again, so i need to fix that...once this is taken care of, the rest should be fine...i bought the fmic cause i wanted it(duh, btw...dont be thinking "gee i wish i had the money to say that"..its the nature of the business, i dont pay retail for 'em https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR )

also, my stock TMIC was banged up and only had like 2 rows of good fins...so it is probably messed up..probably had a hole in it too..so figured y not...

Racer X 07-31-2003 09:23 PM

Damn I can't wait to mount my soon to be Volvo FMIC in my FB now.Looks good rotaryman.

turbo dan 07-31-2003 10:46 PM

pengaru 07-31-2003 11:57 PM

Rotaryman88 08-01-2003 01:59 AM

I told u all it was messed up,lol...hence the FMIC...
