The time has finally come for me to paint this other vert and get it sold, so here are some before pics, if anyone hears thru the grapevine of someone looking for a nice clean vert, low mileage ( 113000 on the car, less then 10,000 on the engine ), totally stock, ice cold a/c, brand new tires, and of course shiny new black paint, I will hopefully get it done in the next 2 weeks if I dont get sidetracked. Car has ZERO rust, it was originally a Florida car that I got off the original owner.

Anyhow, the point was just to get some traffic here and share my little project with the group https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Here is worst of the car, a slightly hit front bumper, both lights work, no damage to the bumper support, just the cover, car will get a new bumper cover.

Engine pic, 100% stock and less then 10,000 miles on it. I forgot how quiet these cars really are, lol

vosko 12-23-2002 11:14 AM

looks good :bigthumg:

Rob x-7 12-23-2002 11:28 AM

But it will look so much better, any TRI7 meets earlier in the year?

Maybe I can drive it then

Looks nice https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

What colors did the verts come in from the factory?

Black, white, red, a lighter blue, I have seen a silver one but I dont think it was original. All with black tops and either black, charcoal grey, or blue interiors.

I dont think I left any out?

Man, that's going to be as like new as it gets when you're done! How much are you going to sell it for then?

:bigthumg:

Final pricing not yet figured out, way I see it is people are getting $4000+ with needing paint and cleaning up.

This one will have new paint, including all the moldings and tailights, even a new windshield ( there is a small crack and they look nice with new windshileds ), its got brand new not even driven on tires, exaust is mint, its a low mileage car with no rust at all, etc.. Im still undecided if I should take the emblems off and fill the holes on the trunk, I did it on my car but dont know if I want to bother on this one?

Probably around $5000 or so.

I see some rust just glancing at things in the engine bay... ZERO rust is a bit misleading...

Some original hose clamps and brackets are a bit rusted, I think people know I meant the body https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Ill replace the .99 cent hose clamps if you want the car so you wont think I mislead you. And some quick touch ups with a can should take care of anything else, thats what happens when a car isnt driven for almost 3 years, the stupid little things rust.

Its more important that the body is rust free isnt it?

*shrug*

pictures of the plainly visible exterior isnt really useful, when brackets and other random parts under the hood are rusting theres likely a decent amount of rust underneath the car also... subframes and rear trailing arms especially seem to corrode, and the 'jack points' on the bottom are often problem areas. I don't think I've found an FC yet that had ZERO rust, mine was pretty clean, similar to yours actually when I bought it... but once I got underneath and started taking things apart plenty of corroded parts were found, and that car had 72kmi on the chassis, and according to dealer was a 'florida car'... but they always say that https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

i'm just skeptical in general :squint:

You have been quite grouchy lately as well. :bigok:

I apologize for using the term zero rust, I meant that for the body, its harder and harder to find a rust free body. I have some extreme close ups of the parts of these cars bodies that normally rust, felt no reason to post them as I only took them to prove to a serious buyer that the car had no problems before painting.

Some sanding or even scuffing and some paint even with a brush can take care of surface rust on frame rails, corrosion on aluminum can be cleaned with something so simple as baking soda and water.

You can peek under a 1 year old and see some light surface rust and aluminum corroding a bit never mind a 15 year old car.

And this car was infact a car from Florida, shipped to Pennsylvania by amtrax and the older woman who was the original owner had run it out of oil from a oil leak she had 2 weeks later, been sitting ever since. Not like a car from Florida is worth anymore money or anything, just it usually implies less rusting from the lack of salt on the roads for the winter.
