ok heres the deal, i picked up an 87 RX-7 with what looks to be a turbo body with a non turbo motor. Sounds wierd huh? Thats what I thought, the motor thats in the car is obviously not the original. I knew this when I got it.
So here is the problem, I have replaced the plugs, and the wires, tested the coils(igniters) and they tested out fine. I also added another ground off of the back of the tranny to the firewall. Also did a compression test and it tested out good To no end I have looked and Looked for vacum leaks, can't find any. The bad: 1)it idles like crap, goes up, goes down, it's almost normal now, but but no matter what bolt I turn, I can't change the idle, the idle control does NOTHING until it's almost closed then it kills the motor. fast idle doesn't do anything either 2)it hesitates ALL through the RPM Range 3)the BAC test came back bad, the BAC tested at 12.7 Ohms when Haynes says 12.3 max. I would test the TPS but I can't find it in the book so i don't know how to test it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any other suggestions P.S. I'm trying to get the car ready for a Brake and light inspection, also a SMOG, how close will the car come to passing smog, in other words how efficient does the motor have to run to get it to pass smog |

If this doesn't work, keep checking for leaks. Usually the **** idle has something to do with a vacuum leak. |
you can tell if its a t2 by the vin. jomifc332 is a turbo jmifc331 is na and jm1fc35 is a vert. if it really was a turbo then maybe its got the t2 ecu or injectors or something
