I just bought a 1987 Mazda RX7 that had been sitting for about a year. The previous owner never drove it because the brakes did not work.

I got the brakes fixed as soon as I bought the car. The car starts right away but it will stall as soon as it goes under about 1000 RPMs. The mechanic suggested that I fill it up with premium fuel and run it through the system and it should work itself out. I took his advice and also put some Sea Foam in the tank and it still has not fixed it after about a full tank has been run.

Do you have any advice you could give me that will allow me to get the car to idle?

Raise the idle, at least temporarily. And post this in the 2nd Gen. section.

How well does the car run and drive? Is it okay other than not idling? Any mods done to the car? Done the usual tune-up stuff?

Check for vacuum leaks?

There's a throttle stop screw that will allow you to adjust the thottle plate open slightly.
