Hello again fellow rotorheads https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png . My car broke again.. i didnt take it apart yet just thought id get some opinions on what it might be.



The clutch petal has same preasure as normal but it dosent dissengauge at all. ( I can start it in neutral but will not go in gear as if im not holding the petal down.) master cylinder feels fine slave pushes the fork fine... mabey the forks broke/bent? or my newish presure plate took a crap? I was even babying the car that day :o



Oh and I realised this when im coming to a stop sign and the cars not stoping or coming out of gear... yeah i almost crap my pants :unsure: had to yank the ebrake and pull on the shifter to get it out of gear quick. B)

Yeah.... sounds like what happened to mine... clutch plate shattered.... i got some feeling in the pedal... but no disengagment.... looks like yer gonna have to drop the gearbox....



look on the bright side.... if its broken, you can modify it guilt free :bigok:

I had a similar problem when my clutch was stuck to the flywheel. When the pressure plate was taken off the clutch just sat there stuck to the flywheel.

I had a similar problem, but in my case my pilot bearing took a **** and littered the clutch and flywheel area with bearing needles , which were getting stuck between the clutch hub / damper springs and flywheel center area, effectively engaging the clutch at all times. Replace it whenever you have a chance, I hate it when a $10 part costs you a day of labor and headaches. You'll definately have to drop the trans, don't forget to replace the pilot bearing and transmission front seal while you have it apart. You might also want to go to a lighter flywheel if you have the cash. My trans front seal sprung a leak a few months after I fixed the pilot bearing (learned the hard way) and saturated my new clutch disc with oil, along with coating the whole bottom of the car with oil before I realized what was happening by the trans starting to whine and clutch slipping. I took that opportunity to do the pilot bearing again, upgrade to aluminum flywheel, and bought another clutch disc from RB since my relatively new one was all greased up from the oil. If you pull the flywheel you might as well replace the rear main/eccentric shaft seal also while you're in there.

Heh...i finally got my car running right last friday and went to the strip.......I melted the clutch to the fly wheel and my **** wouldnt engage at all.......just dropped the tranny yesterday and peeled it off......im going ahead and pulling everything so i can give the motor a good run down.......

Theres no way my clutch ripped apart or smashed in peices cause i was driving in second gear the hole way home (god i love rotarys https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... ) after i noticed it was not dissengaging right. I could put it in other gear if i had to, but it was a bitch. By the time i got near my house at a stop sign it just wasn't freaking getting out of gear... we had a pilot bearing go bad it did the same thing it tries to turn input shaft when clutch in. either way got to pull trans. if you get a bushing instead of a bearing it will last a lot longer. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/mellow.png
