i have been pre mixing for about 6 months now. i usually mix about 1 ounce per gallon.

when i fill up i just poor the oil in before i pump my gas.

do you think the oil will completely mix with the gas?



i beleve with a walbro 255 pump it should cycle a full tank in 20 min or so.

Ive always premixed with my TII. I just put half a quart (500ml) into a small Jerry can, and about the same amount of gas (premium 92) or maybe a bit more and give it a good swoosh inside until its well mixed, then pour it into my tank. After all that I fill up with gas like we normally do.



This is with a stock fuel pump, but even with an upgraded pump i think its safer to PRE mix before you put in the tank.

Do you guys still have your oil injection hooked up or did you remove it? Reason I ask is that I'm gonna have to start running premix since I deleted my oil injectors. I just don't like the idea of putting motor oil into my combustion chamber. Also Does the premix provide enough lubrication for the apex seals?

The thread you cited says absolutely nothing about the premix providing adequate lubrication of apex seals.

Works for me and every other premixer I know.



Never had a problem with my snow blower, chan saw or dirt bikes either.

Here's what I've leaned about premixing.



Many of us premix due to the unreliable OMP. S4's has a mechanical OMP which is a little better than the S5 electric, since the elecrtic gives you no warning when its toast, and then BOOM one day your motor is toast...



4 stroke motor oil, when injected into our combustion chamber does not burn completely, causing particles of carbon to build up in our engines.

This is when 2 stroke motor oil is helpful, since it leaves almost no ash, and is generally a way cleaner burn.



Unless you have a brand new OMP, chances are, its not gonna be functioning to its full potential, causing it to spray oil unevenly. This will not give the apex seals the ideal, even adequate lubrication resulting in a shorter engine life/ blown motor/ etc etc....



By mixing 2 stroke with our gas, provides guranteed lubrication all the time and since its entering the whole combustion chamber, there are no worries of uneven lubrication, compared to a little squirt/spray from the OMP. Plus it will burn a lot cleaner, resulting in less carbon build-up.



However, if you still have the OMP hooked up while premixing, you are still injecting 4 stoke oil from your crankcase...... which defeats the purpose of premixing. Some people just like to keep it for "safety measures" while they premix. Everyones got their reasons.



To digress a little bit, the only reason why synthetic motor oil is bad for our car is because of the OMP. Synthetics causes more solids to build than regular mineral 4 stroke oil, which means more carbon build up.

Once you completely disable the OMP, it is said to be safe to run synthetics in our crankcase. But make sure you premix EVERY fill up.



That pretty much sums it all up I think.... if I missed anything please feel free to fill in.

I have no OMP. I put in one ounce per gallon... oil first, then gas right at the pump. No problems.
