Well had someone come look at the vert today, when he went to roll the window up it wouldn't go, at first i figured it was the regulator, but it doesn't appear to wobbling in the track too much. I think the cable that runs it up and down is binding, anyone ever replaced this? Motor replacement required as well?
|
I have a write up on how to fix it with bicycle cables, thats if that piece of **** plastic guide didnt break I think
|
My switch has problems some of the time, window goes down but not up. Something to think about maybe?
|
it goes down but not up, but when its your switch the motor wont click on at all right? or does it?
I am in the process of training a mouse to use pliers so it can be fixed with ease. |
you can lose just up, cant you just listen if the thing is working?
maybe you need to clean the switch |
yea that is why i was asking, the motor is coming on it just aint moving the window and it isn't loose in the regulator.
|
mine was binding up, shitty plastic thing broke
your might just need the cable replaced people think they have gold on thier hands- good luck getting a regulator for under $125 |
yea it appears to be the cable i can feel it sort of bind.
|
You think that's bad? Puh-lease. I was on my way home in the GXL the day before I sold it, and it started POURING. so I went to roll up my driver's side window but accidentally hit the passenger side window switch, that didn't even work, and the ******* thing rolled halfway down!!! So I rolled up the driver's window and was trying to make the stupid passenger side window go back up so it wouldn't rain on my interior, and I got the bright idea to push the switch down. What does the supposed broken power window do? Rolls down more, o'course! So I drove for friggin' 5 miles holding BOTH switches up while cruising at 45 and finally the friggin passenger side window goes up like brand new...I guess I found it was the switch, but damn my luck is horrible
|
could be worse, it could still be stuck down.
stop being ungrateufull |

this happened to me and i took the switch out, took it apart and there are little copper pieces. mine were black on the copper and the conecter it sits on. so i just scratched off the black on all pieces put then back in and wala. i do this once a year.

make sure you dismantle the switch over a counter, if you lose one of those brass thingies they are really hard to find in the driveway
his problem is not the switch though, its the regulator |
mine are manual so I guess I got it easy...
sorry |
