Ok well my power antenna doesn't work.
So I broke it out today and began testing. I followed the FSM and tested the 4 prong connector. There's supposed to be 12V to 3 of the 4 prongs. i had about 8-9 volts on 3 with key in the ACC position. Figured that would at LEAST make the motor make some sound. So the next logical place would be the antenna relay. Didn't seem to have continuity wher ei needed it, didnt have a continuity checker on the piece of crap multimeter i was using dont bother asking how i checked, so to be safe i went and took a power antenna relay from the junkyard, plugged it in. still no go. I NEVER hear the motor make a sound like it doesnt get power. So my question: What two terminals can i attach a + and - to to bypass the harness and just try to run the motor? or at least gimme something to test. kevin. |
and i just yanked the mast out and it looks like the FSM says it should look.

well i decided to take off the access panel on the antenna motor itself.
******* thing is shot, must have been sitting in a puddle or something, as soon as i touched the wires they disintegrated, along with the two screws that were in there. anyone wanna send me one for cheap? kevin. |
You can get brand new universal ones on ebay for around $20. I put one in my GTU, it works great.

stick a coathanger in the hole and spraypaint it silver. that should work.

well im considering this universal windshield antenna, i want a power one tho because IMHO the antenna looks gay while its up, but i need to listen to the radio in the morning to wake me up, once im awake then i can listen to cds all day long.

I added a universal power antenna that I got from Best Buy, for like $45 or something like that. This was the first thing I did to my car, and I had no prior experience, and it was easy. All I had to do was make one of the mounting holes (on the antenna, not the car) a tad larger, with a drill.
Works great, except I have to leave the key in the ''on'' position until the antenna goes down, otherwise it will stay up. |
does yours have a the lines on the windshield. if so this is another antenna and will work alone. my ant in the rear broke. so ijust hooked up the front one. and POW noise other than static.
