nice, tell us the results when u get it installed.

Muad'Dib 10-12-2002 05:26 PM

well.......

i installed it today and i havent reset the TPS yet so these results are somewhat incomplete. other than the fact that when i push on the accelerator hard enough to open the secondaries, they stick partially open cuz they arent seated yet. this causes the idle to jump up and down about 1000rpm. i have to get out and manually flip the throttles to get them to sit closed.

i am going to try to put a little wd-40 on them and maybe that will help

but other than that i can say that the throttle response is rediculous. i barely touch the pedal and it will shoot up to 3-4 grand

but i cant really tell how it drives yet due to the problems. ill get back when its fixed

Did you actually replace the butterfly plates with larger diameter ones or are they stock diameter? From the picture it looks like you just ported the front part of the TB opening, but that shouldnt cause your secondaries to start sticking... unless you got some jb weld and/or aluminum filings down in the bushings.

looks great!! I'm pulling the extra throttle plates out of my spare right now actually. The idling prob could have something to do with the fast idle cam?? that's what I read on the fc3s-pro site...

i fixed the idle problem somewhat, i just need to rezero my tps.

the throttle plates are the stock ones, i just ported the entrance smooth and took out all of the ridges that could catch air. they stick because they have to reseat themsellves inside the tb due to the fact that they arent a "foolproof" perfect fit in the first place. the edges are tight but the holes for the screws are a little on the loose side

If you live where it gets cold, I would put it back on. Me and Justin live in Savannah, our idea of winter is a 40 degrees https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
