Well, This is coming from someone that is more adept at american cars and not imports. I've been interested in Rx7's for a long time, but as of tonight, I just got a shell with an engine and stuff, its a 2+2. And I'm not sure what I'm looking at too well.. I'm looking at this unit, that reminds me of a distributor, without a cap. Its to the left of the battery box and its got gears just like a distributor would. I've been told by someone its an oil metering unit, and by someone else its a distributor.

I dont know what to make of it.

any help would be appreciated.

sounds almost right.. except there isnt a CAP on the end. Its just bare. a few wires just chillin in there.. also.. what are the green plugs just hanging there going to?

There should be a metal cap on there (just a black, flat piece of metal), I believe 2 screws hold the cap in place.

The green plugs don't go to anything, they're for diagnostics.
