What's good guys, new to the rotaries. I'm confused on the counterweights for the auto to manual swap. I have a 90 gxl with manual trans I picked up for 500 with no motor. Recently I bought a 90 gxl motor mated to an automatic for 300. The auto motor I was told was the best rotary the guy ever owned. (He just pulled the combo out of his car to stuff a v8 in.) Now I'm bout to purchase a lightweight flywheel and clutch, and the flywheel coming with a counterweight for the wheel.

I've been researching this question for couple months and I'm still lost in the fog on this. So do I use the automatic cw with the lightweight flywheel? Or do I use the weight that is coming with the flywheel. Any help clarifing my question will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Use the counter weight that came with the motor . and fit a spigot bearing and seal in the crank sharft. the auto motor does not have one fitted

Spigot bearing?? Isn't that a bearing in the older Toyota front Axel?? I'm about to finally start to put everything together and I'm down to the bottom of my collection list to be able to put car together.

In the center of crank sharft there should be a needle roller and seal for front sharft of gear box to be supported . Auto motors don't have one fitted

Right on. Right after I sent that last message, I did more research on the spigot bearing to find it was another name for the pilot bearing lol. Any recomendations on swapping that in, or is it fairly basic? Can't wait to finally get my 4 year project on the road

The bearing and seal is fitted with a steped punch and taped in . But you can carefully tap it in with a socket with the same outside diameter Bearing first then the seal

So let me clarify.
Ur saying that the auto motor doesn't have a bearing on the e-shaft/pilot bearing?? Or do I need to do more research??

Also on that note, do I need to pull the counterweight to install the bearing or???

I plan on using the counterweight from the auto other then the new one coming with the light weight flywheel. Or should I use the counterweight coming with it just because its new??? Idk. I was just told to use the auto counterweight

You can fit bearing with c balancer on and use the c balancer that came with motor it is matched with one in front of motor
