So you just need 1 housing and 1 rotor, right? Make sure to check the water seal grooves for any signs of cracks or warpage. The area near the spark plug holes gets very hot. Have fun cleaning off all of that crud. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

vosko 05-25-2002 06:25 PM

one side housing has some grooves too....... i'll probably want a used rotor. i might go with new rotor housings from mazdacomp. we'll see though. i want to double check the parts https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png i have castrol superclean to clean the crap out of everything. i still have to clean the engine bay too https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

New rotor housings would be a good idea. How bad are the grooves in the side housing?

That looks like a bloody crime scene from CSI or something, lol...can't wait for mine https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

Hopefully, being that mines a Jspec w/ "low mileage" it won't be as bad. Keep us posted...

Jeesh, looks like my rear rotor and housing. Wish I had a digital camera to take better pictures. Actually the chipped apex seal is still wedged in the old rotor. I tried to pry it out but the fucker is pretty happy where its at. Hey not all the pictures loaded but I noticed on the front and rear housings you don't seem to have ports for the 5th and 6th ports? Is this because it is a turbo and set up differently? Just wondering. Maybe I will have to post pics of my crime seen in all its glory. Redhook>>>>blonde.

i'm still contemplating my options on what i can do. i might just get a jspec for now locally. then take my time and rebuild and port the engine and swap it in later. having no car sucks REALLY BAD. not to mention my engine needs thousands worth of parts https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

What do you want to do, just a regular street port? We could do more, but then it may not be too good for the street.

Yea, and I'll bring my GTX motor by, and we can just have a big porting party...with some Vodka in between, lol...oh nm, that could lead to some seriously messed up port shapes. B)

Mine always started. It even started and drove fine after I cracked my rear housing. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Having oil spraying out all over the place, however, was a problem. I'll try to post a good picture of the damaged housing this week. Everybody who sees it says holy sh@t! B)

I talked to my friend and showed him what I did, and we think that it should work VERY well. If it does what I think then it should give more than a normal bridgeport, but without the reliability issues. The only problem is that it takes a while. After I finish mine then it should go faster in the future. I'm probably going to run mine without a turbo because the 6 port plates may crack with too much boost.

Yeah, we'll have the next club meeting at my house. I'm sure I'll be the darling of the neighborhood after that. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png I remember last summer at my house when I had my car running with big exhaust leaks, one friend with a header revving his engine, and my friend with nothing but 2 resonators going crazy. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif
