im just curious whether or not the racing sleeves that pineaple racing makes are worth it? does anyone have them in a na s4? how much of a difference did you notice, they lok like they would flow air a lot better than the stock ones, anyone know the price? ill e-mail them later, thanks

I made a set of my own out of nylon. They are worth every penny. The increase in power at redlien isnt very much, only a few hp, but the gains below that are amazing. You get a much smoother power curve, and a stronger bottom end and midrange. Youll never regret getting them.

Heres a pic of the nylon ones I made.

are you going to make more?https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png for me! eheh...wil they work good on a unported motor?

mazdaspeed7 12-15-2002 05:31 PM

They work great on unported motors, as well as ported motors.

I could make some more. $25 shipped in the US.

I have them...best mod for the $$ spent IMO.

ok, what I want to know is, is there a write up on how to do this? like, what exactly has to be taken apart, how to get the old sleeves out, so on, so forth, or if not, could someone who has done it, add a howto on the forum, since I have to change mine anyway, they are fully locked, might as well upgrade.

you need to remove the whole intake manifold to change the sleeves, if you want a write up on that i suppose its doable

****, really? I thought you just had to remove the acuators, acv, air pump, then pull them out. I'm still going to order a set, the pics on the pineapple site have me convinced that the stock ones flow terrible.

Apex13B 12-17-2002 01:28 PM

they do flow horrible..and i dont know WTF mazda was thinking when they made those

Baldy 12-17-2002 03:24 PM

those sound promising, I'd like a set, but seeing as how I lack courage and audacity to go about it blindly, I too would like a step by step process...I feel I can do anything with good instruction, yet not very much on my own wits
