Recently I have come across the Pineapple Racing sleeves for my 87 NA, and I was wonderin gif there is anybody on this site that has them and I they felt a huge differenceor none at all. Mods that I have done are a cat-back exhaust system by Borla, a cold air intake like the one on the site here, and taken the secondaries out of the throttle body. If anyone has done this, or anyone knows the end results please tell me. Thanks.

Make sure you read this thread before you install them. Proper installation will prevent them from damaging your motor.

As long as you install them right, there shouldn't be any probs. I checked mine after 6 months and they didn't move in the sleeves. I used red loctite to secure them.

I really couldn't tell if they made a difference or not since I did a bunch of other things at the same time. If you're looking for a big kick in the ass power gain, you wont get it from any bolt on in an NA except maybe the Mazdatrix true dual exhaust system compared to a completely stock set up. Not trying to discourage you, just speaking from experience.

I too used red loctite, and I can't tell of any problems thus far. I'll be checking soon when I remove my rat's nest.

I could swear that I noticed a sound difference when they kicked in, which wasn't there before I put them in. I think the power difference is more noticeable in the top end. Not a whole lot, but every little bit helps.

I wouldnt use them, kahren's were installed properly as far as I know and the destruction was nasty. There's alot of pressure difference acting on them the entire time the engine is running, if the heat gets to the adhesive they will come loose, and when they do, they're sliding back and forth beating against the pin the entire time until something breaks. You know that whole dynamic chamber ping-pong effect thing, yeah, it will toss those sleeves back and forth like a paint shaker if the adhesive gives way, destroying themselves and that pin, likely sending metal **** through your engine.

well damn, that sucks
