I was interested in buying the Pineapple racing inserts for my 5th and 6th ports

Do they work? More power? More tourqe? What benifits do they offer?

Once they are installed, do you still need the acuators on the outside of the block? (above the manifold?)

Thanks. Markus https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png

The stock sleeves just come to a dead end.. the inserts add a slope at the end of the sleeves to smooth the flow of air into the ports. If you don't want them open all the time, then you should keep the acuators hooked up. If you remove the actuators, you can wire the sleeves to stay open

yeah, they just smooth out the airflow.

I'm also curious, what kind of gains could you expect? I've heard good things.

Apex13B 03-30-2003 07:01 PM

baldy just did it and he loves them...i suggest them too

i'm just too lazy to put them on my car

I believe Rob said the hp gain to be 10 to 20 on the top end, cant say for sure its been a while.

So, if i get my headers... than the pinapple sleeves... what kinda power gain are we looking at all together??

any idea?

I've got basic mods right now. and the motor is 'so fresh and so clean, clean.' (rebuilt)

89 Rag 03-30-2003 07:51 PM

probably 160-170

relisys190 03-30-2003 07:54 PM

nice, nice. That's about all i'm looking for. when shall i start with the fuel mods? i am going to keep it N/A

But i am trying to get as much power out of it. I am going to port it. But before i do, i'm doing everything i can

People tell me headers makes the most difference. True?

89 Rag 03-30-2003 07:58 PM

The air has to get in right, the exhaust has to get out right. The stock intake and exhaust sys. seem restrictive, the 200+ bones for the header is a MUST imo.

I have been running them since January and I like them. Before I was running with my sleeves removed and above 4 grand it screamed pretty good. After I installed the pineapple sleeves I noticed a much more even power band, less dogginess below 4 grand, and above 4 grand it really didn't feel much different.
