Got the manifolds glass beaded and put together. Crazy how much room is in between the upper and the block. I'm trying to decide what to do with all that extra space.

Ignore the pullies, I'm probably going to be using a serpintine belt setup that should garauntee no slipping.

Now to try to find a turbo!

the car in the background is an e production car that was on speed channel this weekend. Jr has all the goodies.

mazdadrifter 12-12-2004 11:37 PM

view of the rear. Maybe I can mount the turbo in there! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

looks great! can't wait to see install pics. what turbo sizing are you thinking about?

haven't done the math yet, but looking at the porting it's gonna have to have some lungs. Ken at cheapturbo thought a gt40 would do the trick. I'm open to opinions tho!

for the serpentine belt system use the 13bt waterpump with the cosmo pulley, you can run a cosmo crank pulley and an FD alt with the stock pulley. savings of like 350 bucks over buying a kit to do the same.

its nice on the 20b i could pull the wiring harness without pulling the upper intake

Baldy 12-13-2004 01:03 PM

oooOOOooo, that's purty! Is it going to make it to the winter retreat?

Christopher Lowell would suggest creating an additional sitting area with extra space. You could use a short bookshelf or a table to divide it from the other areas.

hey,

the extension off the TB is that stock 13bre or aftermarket? looks like a nice piece for 13bt's converting to FMICs.

its stock, but the tb size and bolt pattern is different, AND the cosmo/fd tb is upsidedown from the t2 tb

4RotorRocket 12-13-2004 03:40 PM

nice wish it was mine

mazdadrifter 12-13-2004 04:12 PM

thanks for the compliments guys. The block was clean as hell to start with, but when I dropped it off to JR to have the exhaust ports cut, and such, he touched it up and put a nice clear coat on it. Turned out great.

J9 I know! That's what we were saying about the harness. Also the secondary injectors can be removed without taking off the uim. It's crazy.

Baldy, I've got my fingers crossed, but it should be on schedule to make it to the retreat. I don't know how well tuned it will be at that point so I might not beat it up just yet, but it will most likely be there.

Hmmm, we'll have to compare dyno sheets when all is said and done. I want to see how much of an effect the porting has on low-end...

definatley! is yours 100% stock porting, including stock exhaust sleeves?? Jr and I were wondering just how much it would help if at all. Some of that stuff just makes you sleep better at night, but I figure it's a good investment considering if you rebuild the motor 100 times, the manifolds will always match up nice.

Yeah my baby's bone stock. Hopefully I'll get around to finishing it soon, haha.

CozmoRX7 12-14-2004 02:23 AM

wow! Looks really nice! I would love one of those.

mazdadrifter 12-14-2004 07:13 PM

sat it in another fc today to get the motor mounts in the right spot. Jr had to cut half of that big elbow off and flip it over so the hood would close, lol.

It actually worked out great angle wise, I'll post a pic soon.

Ricer240sx 12-15-2004 12:07 PM

this motor is the little brother of the motor you speak of, it's the 2 rotor version of the 3 rotor you saw. Many have had great luck with getting huge hp out of it tho, so we'll have to see. I just want it to be reliable. The last version of my car never lost a race, so this is kindof overkill.
