I'd be interested in seeing how well that works...it looks like airflow would be a problem.
|
well with a proper hood and good fan it shold be ok. I was thinking about one myself, and using that "N"tercooler that NX sells. I was also thinking about just the hood without the I/C like the old Ford GT40 race cars.
|
That should work very well.Even better with a 9" filter on it.

Gorgeous car https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif I think it is truely awesome. Only problem is that I really wanted those rims. I saw them on a Skyline and have wanted them since. Guess I have to look for something new. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

Very nice, a little too cluttered for me though, maybe even over done. i would have just gone with a FMIC, 2 core, no problems with that.I too like all the custom stuff he has though, and I like how his haltech relays and install was done. motor/engine work is very nice. :bigthumg:

that is a bomb setup... if only i had the time money and patience.... wait n/m i'm to lazy to go that far..... hehehe.. very nice though... give u propz1!!!

V mounts are better for endurance.
Radiator and FMIC don't have to share the same airflow and don't heatsoak. Although I think the radiator may be a problem when at a stop, but then you just have to speed up. |
and yes, that could be considered "bomb diggity"
****** beautiful |
You can run into cooling problems with a FMIC and a heavy duty radiator, basically the radiator needs ALOT of air to pass thru it and with a FMIC blocking some of that air the car runs a bit hotter when underway and the car is relying on air flow only for cooling. A stock radiator would probably cool the car better if you are running a FMIC, or at least a radiator that isnt over-kill.
|
As long as your FMIC is not too big >2core then your fine, there are plenty of ppl who use them w/o cooling issues. V-mounts are ungodly spendy.
|
actually 13bAce car ran a bit warm while under way, we both think it was because his radiator was too thick and wasnt getting the proper flow to cool it.
|
Yea I remember that, he did have one big as rad. Well I will find out. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png What size core was he running, for the fmic? i remember shaolin racing have no problems with his stock rad and some big fmic. Also if you have a big mouth front bumper that will help a lot, and a vented hood.
|
hm, not sure of the core of his FMIC, but his radiator was THICK.
|
i saw a setup like bluet2's on a car at sevenstock the guy had the top car in the country in its auto x class.
mike |
Was it a red and yellow car with fender flares? If so that is Steve O'Blenes (sp.) who runs in B prepared.
|
yup thats the guy

my FD has a 3row and fluidyne rad. zero cooling problems. i don't even have the undertray on https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
