I have an 87 Turbo II with Bonez Intake, 3" down pipe and exhaust run all the way back.......what should my next upgraDE BE?? What does a stock turboII run?

bigtime 07-25-2002 09:51 AM

bigger turbo

How much boost are u running? You need to work in the fuel department, chances are u are running lean ----> gonna blow your engine soon. U should look into a bigger fuel pump.

vosko 07-25-2002 11:31 AM

stock TII's run low 15's

i'm gonna say upgraded ecu and walbro fuel pump

Turbo II 07-25-2002 11:33 AM

do u have a fuel cut defencer? you'll need that since you upgraded your exhaust. then i would look into a better fuel management system. (sds fuel systems)

if your gonna bother going standalone haltech works very well

wow, haltech is way too expensive. But it is a great investment if you plan to keep the car.

how much did you pay for the engine?

87rx7TurboII 07-25-2002 10:32 PM

So...Bigger pump and injectors?

vosko 07-25-2002 11:05 PM

SDS looks pretty nifty

you can get by with a good tuned ecu for your stock injectors and run up to 12psi of boost and walbro pump. on my TII with stock injectors and walbro pump i hit 15psi and still had fuel https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

87rx7TurboII 07-25-2002 11:12 PM

did u have the fuel cut defenser? or does the ECU upgrade deal with that?? where did u get an upgrade?

vosko 07-25-2002 11:14 PM

you don't need a FCD with a reprogrammed ecu. i forget the name of the company but one company does them for http://www.corksport.com call and ask. it is worth the investment so you won't blow your engine https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

wait so i can throw away my fcd now. i spent like a week making it. this sucks. but yeah vos, im trying to find a way to get at least 18 psi off of that system. any suggestions after reading about sds?

it looks ok but i think your gonna get alot more value with the support of the haltech. the SDS looks very limited..... all of the cars that run haltech run REALLY nice and very reliable! its nice when you have about 2000000000 people to ask questions that have probably had the same problem https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
