ok i just got my car running but it starts over heating in like 15 mins of runing i allready checked my radiator and i just checked my water pump wut else can it be and how does the add coolent light go off like wut sets it off were does the wire go and i just got a new termatsat

does your rad. fan work?

If the thermostat wasn't oem, take it out and get the stock thermostat from a dealer.

With the rad cap off and the engine running, look at the coolant: See any bubbles?

yea i just got a 180 termatsat and i check it to see if it was opening right and it was working good but i guess ill look in to doing this check for the coolent ur talking about and my fan is working

15min from first crank of a cold engine is a short amount of time to be over heating already. As stated above use only OEM Mazda T-stats anything ells can cause improper cooling and possibly overheating.



This is a quick amount of time to over over heat so IMO I would look at air in the cooling system and a clogged RAD as well as stated blown coolant seals. Check using a coolant pressure tester or by looking for bubbles in the upper hose if S4 and the lower if S5. This being mentioned b/c if your coolant seals are gone the motor will heat the water up allot faster as well allowing air into the system.

Depending on where the seals are blown, the motor will consume coolant, and the reservoir will run dry eventually, but the compression side or the exhaust side of the coolant seal (blown) will allow air bleeding off into the system, making it boil over incessantly without burning any of it.



I'm curious about what his reservoir is doing during his overheat. If the level rises just above norm from the temperature, or totally boils over non-stop, or is slowing losing (eating) coolant.
