Anyone know how to get ahold of the guy that sells the SS braided ones at scalliwag.com?

Noticed my car started leaking oil, have a borke oil line.

teknics 12-24-2006 05:01 PM

scalliwag doesnt make them anymore, there is no SS lines for the FC anymore....unless you buy 2 sets of fd ones and im still not sure if theyre long enough.

You could always make them yourself. You can use the oil banjo fittings with some nitro rc car fuel line, worked ok on my car. You might want to go to a local hydraulic shop, i'm sure they could set you up with somethine.

hell im just gonna ge a peice of vac hose and quick tie it over for the time bein.

j200pruf 12-26-2006 09:55 PM

I don't know if vaccumm line will hold up to oil at all. That nitro R/C car fuel line shold be easy to find and super cheap.

mazda trix sells new plastic one that where i got mine

fc3s4utnv 12-27-2006 02:04 PM

That will just be a temp fix till i can do them all. The one that broke btw is a new one form mazdatrix its about 4 months old.

j200pruf 12-27-2006 07:41 PM

Yeah, I don't like the stock lines at all. If you want I can get some length of tubing (hobby shop is about 5 minute walk from my house) and send it too you if you want to foot the shipping. Or I could just send you the ones that I have on my engine, cuz I don't need them any more(I gots me a set of scalliwag lines).

I bought some -3an (or -2 can't remember) line from local race shop, took the corresponding banjo fittings from the stock lines.

Measured, cut to length. Don't forget to leave some slack. I taped the ends so it doesn't fray and used small hose clamps. Works great for me. The banjo fittings are nice and snug in the line with out the hose clamps. Also, I usd a SMALL amount of petrolium jelly to help slip them on.

I order some stainless braided line, just gonna do it like that

ill_booger 12-29-2006 11:50 AM

After you've driven car for ~100 miles go back tighten the hose clamps. I found one of the oil injector clamps a little loose.

fc3s4utnv 01-11-2007 09:09 PM

Hell I ended up useing the nitro RC fuel line, and just used good guick ties for the moment everything works good. Im tring to find some worm gear clamps that are small enough to fit them, I hate the clamp on style.

teknics 01-12-2007 05:51 PM

worm gear will chew em up, get real small tbolt (doubt they make them) or use zipties, constant pressure clamp are the best, or hydraulic clamp.

where can i find those hydraulic clamps?

teknics 01-13-2007 04:42 PM

parts store.

i forget the excat name of them, but they're used on the ends of air hose and some hyrdaulic lines.
