I bought an old-school hks boost gauge the one with the black face/ red-orange numbers/ white needle, but I can't install it on my car because I don't have the instructions for it. I've tried looking all over the internet for some instructions and asking people, but couldn't find anything. All I found was other poeple that had the same problem. Do any of you guys know how to install this gauge or know where to get any instructions?? if you do write back ASAP. thanx

is it vacuum or electronic? what exactly do you need to know?

Corbit 01-19-2004 02:43 PM

if its electric and you are missing the sender there might be

a problem no?

It's an Electric gauge. I just need the wiring diagram for the gauge.

I also need the wiring diagram for this gauge. Seems like no one here has it or is too stingy to share the wealth :p:

Some one here has to have the gauge's instructions. I think this guy needs the color of the wire and what it is (ie. black = ground, red = positive...).

Thanks

how many wires are coming out of it?

wan 01-19-2004 03:43 PM

4 wires. See below..

- black = ground

- red = 12v constant?

- orange = instrument panel dimmer?

- yellow = switched ignition?

Rob x-7 01-19-2004 03:46 PM

i would say no

one of those wires is for the sender, and gagues dont

get a 12v constant.

lights and ground, not sure if it has a dimmer on it.

The sender harness is seperate from the gauge's power harness. The sender one has 3 wires and two female plugs on each end. One female plug for the sender and one for the gauge. The gauge harness has a female plug on one end that goes to the gauge and the other end has bare wires. Im confused :(
