Ok, well today I really started working on the SE-X...I've tried steam cleaning the engine...with no luck..I'm not even sure if the water made it to the housings...I'm going to try some other hoses and see what happens. I don't have a compression tester here with me, so I just pulled the spark plug wires off the front rotor(thinking it was the rear rotor thats messed up)...tried to crank it..wouldn't turn over, flip-flopped the wires and it ran...so now I'm positive that the rear rotor is the one w/ no compression. How likely is a Jspec to have a blown rear rotor? I mean...don't they check these things...another thing, there is coolant burning...its coming from the the turbo/LIM(ha...thanks to 13BAce...I can now use that slang) area...the other shop guy said he thinks its the 0-ring inside the manifold/housing area...hard to replace but doesn't involve a rebuild...is this true? I'm sure he's not talking about the water jacket seal or the big rubber seal around each housing..he means a lil oring..anybody know what he's talking about? Also, the speedo doesn't work...I drove the car to the end of my road and back(got to hear the BOV for the first time) and the speedo read 0 the whole time...any suggestions? Its a new cable. Anyways...sorry so long, just thought I'd share my story so far....

The o-rings between the LIM and motor tend to go bad after a while. You'll have to remove the LIM to get to them. The stock turbo will also need to come out. You may have pulled the speedometer cable loose behind the gauge cluster.

Thats what I figured w/ the speedo cable..damnit, lol..I just had the interior out! As for the Orings...do I need to get them from Mazda? Who's got 'em?

Hey, got another ?...
I know on my NA you adjusted the idle by a screw on the top of the TB, I believe the 89 to 91 turbos you adjust through the BAC valve...but mine doesn't have a screw or anything on it like that to adjust...how do you adjust the idle? |
