ok in my vert when i am idling in drive with the ac on the oil pressure is barely over 0, its at about 500-750 rpm. when the ac is off it is about 15psi. is this normal? the oil is almost full and it is 10w30.

Does the idle drop when you hit the A/C?

Also, you suck. You shouldn't know about any A/C problems until May!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

yeah it drops when i hit the ac. also the fsm says in neutral at 3000rpm it should be at 50 psi, and thats where it is.

The shop that did my rebuild says that is normal. Mine is the same and it worried me enough to want to put in the thermopellet to allow for higher oil flow at start up. My shop said that was a waste of money and time. So I did not. I have not had any problems with my car from that regard.

Shane.Trammell 03-08-2004 03:31 PM

what shop, do they know their stuff? also how long has it been? thanks

UniqueTII 03-08-2004 03:33 PM

I think the BAC is responsible for maintaining the idle with accessories turned on. That may be the problem.

whats the bac and where is it?

The shop I am talking about is the Rotary Shop on West Vickery here in Fort Worth.

They did a very good job on my rebuild. very good. I have had no problems with it in the least. Strong engine with quality parts. The owner used to race RX-7's and knows his stuff.

It has been over a year on the rebuild with no problems what so ever. Knock on wood....

The BAC is bolted to the upper intake manifold on the drivers side. It is above the oil filler neck in that area.

It has 3 hoses coming out of it. 2 coolant lines and one large vacuum line out the top that leads to a pipe heading to the TB. It also has a plug going into a round disc like thing on the front of it.

hmm didnt know there was a rotary shop in ft worth, thats good to know. thanks for the help guys, and how can i check if the bac is bad?

gazellis 03-08-2004 05:25 PM

Of course you have Gotham Racing in Keller but I think they just deal with mods and peformance stuff. I am not sure if they will do a straight rebuild.

Rotary Performance referred me to The Rotary Shop when Rotary Performance stopped working on FC's.

By the way i did not mean to say upper intake manifold, I meant to say dynamic chamber in my response.

I don't have my manual here at the office so I am not sure how to test it though.

if you apply power and ground to the 2 pins it should click. dont hold the wires there too long (1-3 seconds)
