I know i posted this once before but I got new info.

Ok when cold I start it up and it goes to around 30PSI if i rev it a bit it goes to around 50-55 once it starts to warm up it will go to 0PSi and If I run it like to 7K a couple times it will go to around 40 or so. If it is the thermal pellet shouldnt it stay around 30 all the time?

I was reading on mazdatrix.com about the front cover O ring but I was kinda ruleing it out since my motor has never been opened that I know of. Is changing the thermo pellet to complicated?

With the thermo pellet, it just shouldn't be low when cold thats all. Your sender could be bad..

Yep, that can be the thermo pellet. I had similar symptoms on my car before I did the mod. I also tested the pellet when I had it out, it extended something like 2mm, spec is 6mm.

Do the mod, its cheap/easy and if nothing else will eliminate it as a potential problem

Thats a pretty stupid reaon to rule it out. They can blow out, it happened to me on the rebuild I bought. Oil pressure was exactly as you described. 0 psi at idle, 30 psi max. Its worth checking, oil pressure is VERY important to your motor. Spun bearings are no fun, and definately more work than checking the front cover 0 ring.
