Took my first shot at removing the oil cooler line. I started with the lower one, where it meets the oil cooler. How the heck do I get this thing off??? I cranked on it, but the only thing I'm accomplishing is yanking the entire cooler all over. Reverse thread or anything stupid like that? Or just super tight? What's the best method here?

You can use an end wrench with an extension on the handle for extra leverage, but the radiator needs to be out to do so, and it makes it easier to time the fittings when installing the braided stainless hoses.

I was thinking you were building your own hoses, but you bought them so you don't have to worry about timing the fittings on the fresh cut hose, it's already done for you. Sorry for the confusion. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
the oil cooler is only held on by 4-10mm nuts on dampners so i just took it off so I could get some leverage on it, seemed to come off pretty easily then.

Finished it last night. In the rain. I removed the tow hook, which allowed me to fit the impact wrench in there, popped it off easy enough. Had to use an adjustable wrench to get the fitting off the front cover, didn't have a wrench big enough, but it worked fine.
What I found weird was that it seemed like the lines were a *tad* too long (1/4"-1/2"). I had to bow them upwards or to the side to get the fittings to line up. |
