Anybody taken theirs off for whatever reason lately?

All my bolts snapped when I took it off (rust) so I had to redrill holes and put new bolts in.

I know it doesn't sound hard but it was the biggest PITA.

Similar experiences anyone?

I mean the oil cooler mounts - I would have just fabbed new L shaped brackets but these ones have a rubber dampener to absorb shock so the cooler doesn't rattle itself until it falls off.

I pulled the brackets off the cooler itself, and had to drill around the other metal plate/rubber install the bolts in between. ANNOYING.

Just took one off to be flushed today at a shop. I usually only break 1. Mazdatrix sells new mounts...

I hate how the Oil Cooler is located. The stock oil cooler lines are a thick rubber correct? Mine are steel braided, and I was told they are not stock lines. I am so confused.

I must've had twenty little cuts from the barbs off those damn lines. And it is impossible to fit the lines in. I had to take out battery, batt. tray, air intake, air intake to the TB. PITA. But it was fun, and I learned something other than pumping gas into the car and changing the oil and plugs.

How much are they selling for?

Mine turned out okay, but I'm going to be pretty pissed off if my oil cooler falls off while I'm driving!

OKAY....I had this idea not long ago....

upgrade to FMIC, right? but than the hood scoop is good for nothing more than getting my wankel dirty....(heeheehee)

So why not pull the stock intercooler out of the tray thingy its in, and mod a large oil cooler to fit inside of it?

does anybody have any idea what im talkin about???

cuz the oil cooler isnt near the hood. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

When i pulled my motor for the swap awhile back I had to cuz the oil cooler lines because they just wouldnt come off, well i know now to cover any sharp objects when pulling the motor because it gave me a good gas on my forarm. now i have a new battle wound. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
