get a multimeter or find someone who has one. first check the batter for static voltage, next check the alternator while the car is running for charging voltage, next check the charging voltage at the battery. if you find nothing check for an amp draw off the battery while the car is off. this process will answer all your questions.

Where do you place the test leads on the multimeter when checking for amp draw? is it as simple as from pos to neg post?

Okay, everything was fine yesterday, now I'm having some sort of different problem.



With the car running, if I have my e-brake up, my 'Charge' light comes on and my door chime starts beeping. Also, once I get to about 2800 RPM it starts beeping and the charge light comes on again .



Checked the battery and connections and stuff, it's all fine. I don't get it. The only time I've ever had the charge light come on (No beeping) was when the positive cable would pop off the battery.

theres a pinched wire somewhere, it will prolly be pretty obvious when you pull it apart to fix the damage

So should I just not worry about the beeping and the light being on....?

you should stop driving the car, you dont want an electrical fire or a dead battery

I unplugged the battery for about an hour ( I know it only takes a few minutes, damn it! ) to allow the computer to reset. This did the trick. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Sometimes if I turn the ignition too fast and don't let it click in each stage, then some sort of warning system goes off or something. I think maybe the computer is just old and may need to be replaced eventually or it'll just die. But for now, it's perfectly fine other than these little gremlins.



The battery doesn't seem to be draining. I think that my hatch light it was did it. It only died after I had used the hatch light, and didn't turn it off, but it goes off when you close the hatch. Thing is, sometimes you gotta give the light a few smacks to get it to work. Some sort of bad connection, my guess..

Why? It runs fine other than a few quirks now and then, which aren't a big deal. The car is 20 years old, what the **** are you expecting? A Honda Fit Sport?



So far it's behaving, but it's going to sit for a week. If the battery drains in that time, I'm gonna get some things checked out.

haha actually i'm thinking of getting one of those... i don't know you haven't posted pics i've seen yet and the car seems to be totalled. just seems to be unsafe and what not. do what you want it was just a suggestion.
