i fixed everything and my starter the car started up fine...so i went for a drive.

i didnt really push it hard at all only drove for about a mile total...but on my way back i went to neutral at a light and it was ilding at like 500 and i pulled over and was dripping coolant

im almost home so i turn it on and drive back no more coolant leak .. but at the next light its idling shitty again and mad smoke ....i had to keep it alive with my foot

smoke smelled like fuel and when it fired back up it was ******* rediculous smoke....at idle the vac wasnt bad

g_dripht-alex 02-10-2004 02:22 PM

like i told you before, get your ass to sears and get a compression testor.

sidewinderx7 02-10-2004 02:26 PM

so dripping coolant, low idle, smoke that smells like gas ..

what color is the smoke, where is the leak, and what all is taking off your car that effects your idle?

Convert to TXT files buddy!

Low idle hmmm, Haltech doesn't care about vacuum leaks.

Just makes it idle higher...

k compression test revealed 60-60-60 on both rotors... using a LBS/sq inch meter from sears

the rear rotor plugs were DRIPPING wet from fuel...so ive come to the theory that the rear rotor is flooded and the front is ok..letting me run but not well

i unflooded the engine...but the autoparts store was closed = no new plugs

fikse is coming over around 930 and letting me use his extra set of 9's...

stay tuned

Nemesis 02-10-2004 05:15 PM

Isn't this a fresh rebuild?

FrestyleFC3S 02-10-2004 05:19 PM

yeah it is

ColinRX7 02-10-2004 05:30 PM

What other readouts do you get on that datalog? I dont have a program to open it... is it text based?

A/F ratio at idle? Maybe something is interfering with the intake passage for the rear rotor? Injector malfunction?

ColinRX7 02-10-2004 05:35 PM

Maybe double check all those wires we extended? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

They should be OK but if you haven't looked then maybe..

g_dripht-alex 02-10-2004 05:40 PM

colin, the data looks fine execpt for the fact that at 9% throttle the RPMS start to die out, but that could be due to flooding.

FrestyleFC3S 02-10-2004 05:42 PM

oh to read that file.... http://www.haltech.com go to downloads section and get the e6kv634 program....

then run it...itll read it...go to datalog > load datalog file

anyways im pretty sure that weve narrowed it down to very very flooded rear rotor....the compression is low cause the engine isnt fully set in yet...only 1100 miles....

and yeah all the wires are good i 2x checked

With that said it sounds like an injector went over duty or stuck opened or something. Especially if you do have compression on the rotors.. It's obviously not flooding itself out from low compression.. Gotta be an injector on that side or something malfunctioning..

I'll download the E6K program when I get home I'm at work right now..

I have heard horror stories before of guys who just bought brand new injectors and they had some kind of fault.. You know.. flooded so badly that the intake manifold has puddles of gas in it and stuff..

FrestyleFC3S 02-10-2004 05:54 PM

yeah im gonna send the injectors to rc and get them cleaned...shoulda done that while the car was in pieces rebuilding oh well

as soon as i can get the uim off...someone used gasket sealant between the uim and lim...not mentioning names here

FrestyleFC3S 02-10-2004 06:04 PM

FrestyleFC3S 02-10-2004 06:35 PM

k got it off....inejctors are boxed up to go to rc

Racer X 02-10-2004 07:56 PM

Aren't fresh rebuilds in the 100 zone?Not 60's?

Still.. Regardless the rear rotor is flooding out.. Both rotors are reading 60s on all faces.. And it used to run just fine..

FrestyleFC3S 02-10-2004 08:38 PM

after a rebuild the engine will run LOWER compression as they have to set everything in perfectly

once set in 100% the compression will be higher than a worn engine

The file can be downloaded and then the file type be changed to .txt to read as a text document.

pengaru 02-11-2004 11:04 AM

No, what 1revvin7 means is go in the e6k software, load the datalog, then go to print datalog.

when the print dialog box pops up, tell it to print to a file instead of printer, and that will create a txt file for you.

renaming the file to .txt won't do a damn thing for anyone without the e6k program to parse the hdl format.

I should make a program for my web site that takes URL's for hdl files and shows you the datalog in the web browser (html output), I already have the hdl format figured out.... this seems to come up often.

and about the car problem, what are your injector trims like?

i was left with the txt file but no info in it

FrestyleFC3S 02-11-2004 10:41 PM

ok so injectors shipped out today overnight ...should be there tomorrow, meaning back to me friday.... i have new plugs

so hopefully i should be able to just install it all and be ok

Hmm. Works with other programs. Should have tried it first.
