To hell wiha conversion, just drive that car. $9500 seems a little steep though.

Shane.Trammell 07-03-2002 05:41 PM

Hey i didnt think about that. I guess i am just so caught up in this conversion. Haltech with laptop included.

Rotaryman88 07-03-2002 05:43 PM

That's the downside to owning an FC, you really can't ever get NEARLY as much back from the car compared to what you put in it...like the guy said, over 25K invested...selling for 9500...he'll probably only get 8K for it.

What car are you wanting to convert?

Shane.Trammell 07-03-2002 06:00 PM

my 89 vert

ILUVMY88CABRIO 07-03-2002 06:07 PM

Do what I did, I wanted to do the turbo swap into my vert, but then I found a TII (10th AE) for sale, and bought it. Now I have two 7s. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Shane.Trammell 07-03-2002 06:17 PM

yeah but i think i want the tII vert just because its so rare. I could just swap the engines and make the old turbo an n/a. I dont know though because i could sell the na stuff and get some money for that to help pay for the conversion. RIght now my engine only has less than 10000 miles on it since rebuild. My dad doesnt understand why i would want to put a higher mileage engine in there, but i guess its a rotary thing, he wont understand until he owns one! About how much would it be to rebuild a TII?? If i got one from rx7world.com i would probably need to rebuild it because it would probably be carbon locked or something.

Rotaryman88 07-03-2002 06:20 PM

It'll cost you about $400 if you do it yourself w/ almost stock seals, springs, etc...or you can have somebody else do it for about $1900....

I'll sell ya my GTX block if you want a blown one.

Shane.Trammell 07-03-2002 06:29 PM

GTX block?? would that be a plymouth gtx? Or the mazda? I am confused https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/mellow.png

ILUVMY88CABRIO 07-03-2002 06:30 PM

But it is SO easy just to go buy a TII. Spend $2500 on a S4 TII, no swapping involved (except for the title), hell, your hands won't even get dirty. Plus you've got real low miles on the NA engine in your vert, you might wat to just keep it. The TII is also lighter weight = better power to weight ratio, and being that the TII is a coupe, it will handle way better than your vert. The vert chasis flexes WAY too much.

Mazda, the S5 in Japan is a GTX. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Shane.Trammell 07-03-2002 06:36 PM

Yeah im not really worried about the power and all of that. i will enjoy having more power, but im not really that concerned with it. I just want a TII vert. I think i will leave it pretty much stock ( to the TII specs). I could possibly get another TII and keep it then i could use that mainly as a rice killer. That way i could mod that thing out until there are no better mods, but keep it on the street of course.

Then You'd be better off finding a TII with a blown engine, rebuild the engine, and swapping everything over.

This was on here a few days ago, I don't know if it is still for sale.

87 TII For Sale

****, you have a S5, and that is a S4. that would make the swap a PITA. well I guess that would give you an idea of what you'll have to spend.

Also try http://www.autotrader.com/

ILUVMY88CABRIO 07-03-2002 06:48 PM

TonyTurboII 07-03-2002 08:24 PM

Hmmmmm....very interesting. Where is Nine Mile Falls?

Shane.Trammell 07-04-2002 11:09 AM

yeah i checked out autotrader and they had some good stuff. There was a turbo convertible on there and it had everything like the original spoiler for the tII convert. So i was thinking it might actually be a real tII vert. I dont remember the actual page and i dont want to find it so i am not putting a link to it.

holy crap that looks just my TII. even has the same damage in the same spot as mine LOL. i would jump on that TII. $1500 + $700 for a jspec = $2200 running low mile S5 TII!!!
