If you jack the car up and drain out the oil, you will probably have to add back between 4 and 5 quarts. Check you owners' manual under capacities to see how much your system holds. Rotaries inject crankcase oil into the combustion chamber to keep the internal seals lubricated. Depending on your driving habits, maybe a quart every 2500 miles. So check and top off your oil frequently. The rotary is a lot like a 2 cycle engine that has 2 cycle oil mixed with the gas. As a matter of fact, many rotary owners add 1/2 oz. per gallon of 2-cycle oil to their tanks at fill up time. Learn all you can about the care and keeping of a rotary. Its a lot different from a piston banger.
