I still cant get any spark out of the coils. I have changed out the CAS, and the trailing coil/ignitor(the only one I could find). here is the situation. I got the motor to put in my sand rail. it was already removed when I got it, so I never heard it run. being in a sand rail, I am running the minimum. I am wondering if things like the neutral safty switch, or starter inhibitor will keep the coil from firing. any other ideas, anything else I should check?

did you check your coils and see if they are all good

I checked the coils, and they are good. I used my power probe and charged he coil, when I removed power, it sparked, so I am sure the coils are good. the main thing I am wondering, is if any of the neutral safety switches, or any of the other starter inhibitor, switches will cause this not to spark. has anyone ever hooked up just the CAS, COILS, and powers and grounds to a computer to see if it will spark?

I've got a similar problem,89 FI the coils seem good as far as the ohm check standard,I have power to the coils but no spark from the coils. Perhaps the ignitor in my case but I don't have equipment to check that and it really has me lost. I've searched forum after forum and no help can I find. I'd like to know what you learn.

Ive looked all over the forums too, it seems to be a common problem with them losing spark, but I haven't seen an answer in the forums. the thing with mine is I got the motor used, the guy said it ran, and the harness was cut in half. after a day of tracing wires, and soldering and heatshrinking, I got it back together. I put the motor in my sand rail, so I dont have a lot of the stock safety switches or tranny switches hooked up. I am willing to pay someone to help me get it going, but there are no mechanics around here that know about rotarys. Im getting close to selling the rotary, and sticking a 2.3 turbo ford motor in it. I'm just not too impressed with the common knowledge of this motor. even calling the parts store is a pain because they dont know what the parts are, and can't get most of it.

how long did the motor sit before you got it ?

I dont know!

I was looking at it tonight, and I have some more info. on the biggest connector on the computer, there are 4 wires running into the computer from the CAS, there are 3 wires running to the trailing coil/ignitor, one wire running from the computer to the leading coil. the neutral switch is grounded. the coils have the hot wires running to them( 2 on the trailing, and 1 on the leading) the computer has the hot wires powered up, and the grounds are grounded. should that be enough to make the ignition system work? the other 2 connectors have everything hooked up. but the remaining sensor wires on the biggest plug are not hooked to anything!

well recently with my engine i have spark fuel and compression but my coolant seals are bad so it causes a no start have you actually checked for spark out of it or are you just guessing you dont have spark
