I've noticed this and it gets anoying sometimes. When i take a really hard left or right, the rx7 makes it seems like its not getting any power or gas to it unless by some chance i have a full tank, and then i have power back when the car straightens out. Any other time the car runs normally. any clue https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif ( 91 rx7 convertable, non-turbo 13b engine)

All I know is that I was able to make my 8 do something like this nearing empty with a few very harsh turns. It bogged for a second then picked right back up. I imagine it was air being sucked through the lines but I could be very wrong.

how low is the fuel when this happens
Try the intank filter sock. Usually the culprit.
I've heard that alot too (the intank fuel sock). https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif well, the body has about 160k miles on it (still looking sharp). the engine and trans were a rebuild back about 40k miles ago, so i kinda expected the fuel sock to be the culprit. i know a website to where i can find one. The fun part is droping the tank. |
No need to drop the tank. There is an access panel in the trunk for the fuel pump. The real pain in the ass is the rusty philips head screws.
You dont have to drop the tank. Pull hte carpet up in the back, four gold screws hold the fuel pump cover. then I forgot how many that hold the pump in the tank, but its easy.
As stated...Pull the carpet back remove the panel, pull pump out. Check the sock that is the normal as well check the baffels in the tank.
What will it look like if its dirty (lol, dumb question need asked)
HAHAHA MAYBE YOU DIDNT PUT FUEL INTO THE TANK!!!
