I am working on a 88 TT shell, I swapped a 86 S4 six port N/A motor (auto trans) with a TII trans. I also swapped all of the wiring harnesses, ECU, ect ect.. I also removed all of the emissions. The car turns over but I do not hear the fuel pump when the ign1 is on. We are using the N/A fuel pump, we are able to get the fuel pump to run if we jump a wire from the center pin on the opening circut relay. We get continuity to the 15 amp engine fuse block to the relay connector, we are also getting continuity back to the fuel pump. I noticed in the FSM that the cold start is also on the same circuit as the opening circuit relay. The cold start circuit has a ground (9) if I remember correctly is on the upper part of the dash.

By not having the cold start circut plugged in and grounded would that not let my relay function?

I don't know the answer to your question but, does the flap on your afm move under cranking if not no fuel.

the fuel pump does not run unless the engine is spinning. CAS needs to send an rpm signal to the ecu.

cold start should have nothing to do with it....but why dont you just put your own relay and switch in for the fuel pump?

Problem is now fixed.
