my slave went out while i was at a traffic light on the highway....i still drove all the way down the highway to the store, shopped, got back on the highway and got home. seriously its not hard to do, just gotta use the e-brake and gas pedal when idling and starting to move. then to upshift or downshift wait till the revs are at around 2500-3500 and shift the shifter towards the gear, hold it by the gate for the gear and apply minimal pressure, it will slip right into gear, if it doesnt just blip the throttle to change the revs a bit. kevin. thats all fine and dandy to get home in a pinch, but then you still have to eventually fix the car |

yea you get home and thats when you fix it. Instead of getting it towed...or pushing it 11 blocks. obviously this kid and his friend are good friends cause if someone asked me to push their car 11 blocks id be like "**** no we WILL drive this" colin: All you do to idle or stop is rev match downshift into first, apply the brake until the car is at about 1k. Pull ebrake handle up slowly while ever so carefully applying throttle to keep it from stalling. The key is to never take it out of first when youre at a stop. Sure its bad for the clutch but it's better then if i pullled over on the highwy and had to pay someone to tow it to my house or whatever. kevin. |
