ok first of all i like to say hey to all you pitson haters iv just recently bought a 87 na fc and i dont really know much about pumping ponies out of a rotary i drag race quite abit and iv always been a fan of the rx7s so i finely bought one(well i traded my 93 240sx) but honestly im not really as impressed as i had imageed but i know this little booger has potential so what some good basics i can start with and whats the max hp gains for bolt ons thanks in advace.

Basics? I'd start with a full tune up... replace all filters/fluids/belts/pads etc.

As for bolt ons, with an N/A FC you're pretty limited in options. A full exhaust will help you the most, but it will be loud.

If you're looking to drag race, you should have gotten a turbo. Just my $.02

So true it is, the only place where an N/a with exceeed is the auto X dept. if you want max power should have bought an FD of T2. you could alwasy use N20. But you still got fuel tuning, porting and the already said exhaust.

I left out porting because he said bolt-on.

Tuning does help a lot, too.. SAFC-II or similar, all the way to full EMS.

shouldn't have traded a 240 for an n/a fc3s

You can turbo the N/A, that's what I'm in the midst of doing.

Is it cheaper than buying a TII? No

Is it easier than buying a TII? No

Some of us here have limited time to go out and buy a car, so driving across the country just wasnt fesable for me.

So, now I've got a N/A with good throttle response, about to have a TII Turbo on it, and I can say I accomplished it my self with help of one guy.

IMHO The only time a TII swap or T-NA should be done is if.

A. Turbo rotary’s are very rare in your area and within a good distance.

B. You are board and need something to do.

If you want raw power and you want to drag race go buy a 04 super charged mustang cobra. If you want a rotary buy a TII or FD other words your wasting your time.

keep the n/a buy a t2/fd/cosmo "13b-re or 20b", then get ready to rewire the whole car almost and buy another 3-6k in parts for the car if not more depending if u do it yourself. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif
