my car: 1989 VERT stock brand new water pump, brand new water neck( the plastic peice) full sealed on the block.....



but it over heats the first time i take it out and get on it....

then i removed the thermostat thinking i will get a good replacement tomorro, but it still over heats... without a tstat in it!



so then i think its my filler cap but be letting go before the 13psi it should, just got a new one drive 3 or 4 miles and temp shoots up again and it start filling up the overflow and running out the top of it...



if i turn the car off for 5 secs then turn it back on, the coolant is at the same level but then it starts dropping.. then the buzzer goes off then start right back rising again....



the only thing that is left is the .......radiator? please help!

can anyone point me on a how to core out the radiator? or tell me a 88 turbo TT radiator will work in its place?

Yup! tha radiator is probably clogged so your best bet would b getting a new radiator...but it can also probably tha fan. Tha fan clutch could b bad so tha fan is not at its full potential.



I had a similar problem. So I changed tha radiator and still overheated.

I knew my pump was new and I had taken out tha thermostat whe I replaced tha radiator. So I decided to take out tha fan completely and convert it to 2 electric fan and BAMM! Problem fixed my engine stays very cool now.



So I say try a different fan you can get 1 for cheap at tha junkyard if your radiator still looks in pretty good conditions if it looks real bad just go ahead and change tha radiator.

just sounds like the cooling systems just needs to be burped dude, use an air lift on the cooling system to fill the cooling system. if you cannot find one n a compressor to run one then jack the frount of the car up and use a coolant funnel and make sure all the air is out of the cooling system.

dont bother with a "TII" radiator, there is no such thing.

The stock cooling system works VERY well, figure out whats wrong before you go throwing parts at it like electric fans.
