So I'm looking into getting some suspension for the T2...and want to go for a new look. Currently it just has the stock S5 rims...love the "stock" look of them...but want to change it up a bit:

I purchased a set of 17" Volk TE-37's look-a-likes a few years back. Had them on my black n/a for a while and loved the look. The black on white was a great contrast. I could put these on the T2...but I'm not diggin' the red on white look...too bright:

So recently I saw a yellow Evo8 with black rims...and thought "wow, I'm likin' it!"...Although this gives the rims no character whatsoever...it really adds a stealth nature to an already bright car. Although these are just colored in photoshop...I'm looking to purchase a new set of 16's...cheap if possible...but lightweight. Do rims come in flat or glossy black...or do they need to be powdercoated? I guess I need to pick up an SCC mag for some cheap deals.

Just looking for opinions on the black wheels concept. Anyone have this? Thought I'd post this here cause the Running gear section doesn't seem as active. If you guys know of any rims sites...link me https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Thanks for any input!

i would leave the stock look or go with some volk gram light pros 57 gold with the polished lip that looks good on anything

I had dark bronze wheels on my old car. At night it basically looked like the car was hoovering down the street. All you could see were the lug nuts spinning in the center. Other things I noticed was my cars profile was instantly lowered. Cops who used to seem to always be double glancing didn't seem to stand out as much to them.

black wheels / dark wheels is not for everyone. Many people will ask you why? wonder where your hubcaps are. but, then those who do know what they are looking at are more likely to give it props for that reason. Which to me means more to have an enthusiast give credit to a ride then just some every day person..

THE STOCK ARE BETTER, but if u want to change it up put the black ones on .

don't go with black rims... atleast get rims with a lip if you want black

imo something a little darker than stock and a little lighter than black would look great on your car........ gunmetal maybe?

Thanks for the input guys...

Blink: I totally agree...I want something to not stand out as much...but have an underlying mystique to it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Anyone know of some good rims sites? besides the ones listed at the top of the nopistons page and tirerack?
