Just go my gen 2 turbo II running... it is fast, but I want to make it much faster.. what can I do as far as bolt ons and where can i buy them? Also what kinds of gains could I expect? I am not really interested in porting my engine at this point. I was thinking about NOS. Any feedback would help.

thanks Jon

what do you have done to it so far ?

BlackTurboII 12-20-2002 04:49 PM

I am pretty sure its stock the turbos max out at 4500 mmHg.

vosko 12-20-2002 04:51 PM

is that the top of the stock boost gauge ?

what year is the car also ?

BlackTurboII 12-20-2002 05:01 PM

it's a 91, or so i was told. yes that is the top of the guage.

Exhaust will yeild a lot of Hp, RacingBeat.com claims 59hp from full exhaust on a stock T2. But you will need a FCD and some fuel mods, alteast a bigger fuel pump, like a walrbo. Take a look around at the vendor links up top.

top of the stock gauge is 10-12 psi BE CAREFUL! if it goes way above the top of the gauge you are boosting 15-16 psi. ask me how i know https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

anyway as long you keep the boost around 10psi your car will be reliable. once you go above that you need more fuel..... then everything starts to get expensive to keep it reliable.....

ito told me he used to do like 18psi on stock turbo and race on them. they would only last one day so he would keep like 10 extra's at the shop haha

when I worked @ v8archie.com I would listen to archie tell stories about racing rotary powered cars back in the day, he had alot of crazy ones https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

The week I bought my GXL he wouldnt stop talkin about the good ole rotary days for him, tales of 12k rpm revs, setting the buzzer to 10k and if the buzzing ever stopped you knew to downshift (!)

SoniX 12-20-2002 08:03 PM

bah, Nitrous can be a Viable option, IF, it is done correctly, and thoughtfully, it is much, much harder to do reliably on a turbo than a N/A since you already have the stress of the turbo on the engine, adding "nos" is just going to make you look stupid, as you sit smoking on the side of the road, though, there are 1 or 2 people who have turbo/Nitrous rotary beasts, it is much easier, and cheaper to concentrate on turbo-centric upgrades, i.e. exhuast/intake/ BIG turbo and fuel, lots of fuel, first, last and always more fuel

BlackTurboII 12-20-2002 09:41 PM

what is the best and most economic turbo upgrade for the 91 turbo II? How much will it cost me? where can I get it? How much will it help over the stock turbos? Also what do you guys suggest dso I can get traction in this beast...well when it becomes a beast lol? Also what fuel systemn should i use? What intake? Basically tell me how to get my car faster than 14's. Reliablity isnt a big issue...this isnt an everyday driver... this is gonna be my car I take to the races and embarrass all those chevy guys.

SoniX 12-21-2002 09:42 AM

ditch the stock air box, get an FCD (fuel cut defencer) get a large diameter exhuast from the turbo back, and get a Walbro in tank fuel pump, and a good aftermarket boost guage, careful you don't spike too high. after that, umm, I am not sure, I am still trying to get my hands on a turbo, so....

Apex13B 12-21-2002 07:15 PM

wider tires..... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Sr motorsports makes a drag launch kit for FC's i have idea how it works though. they also make total torbo upgrade kits though they seen pricey but done the right way though
