My girlfriends mother backed into my car the other night. One of those wonderful things about having a black car at night... I just went and got a quote to fix it.



$250



He will have to bang the dent out, fill in the cracks with bondo, and then paint the entire fender.



OR



For $250 I can buy a couple of new B-Magic front fenders with the 30mm(a little more than an inch) flare from a local gentleman. Here is a picture of them:

The problem with taking my car to get fixed is that the other small dent that came with the car in the other fender will not get fixed.



The problem with buying the fenders is that I don't know if I'm gonna like the extra flare with the rims (16x7 S5 TII) and they are gel coated black. I'm not sure how that looks.



I'm kinda looking for your opinions on what I should do.



Can I run some spacers in the front to try and fill the void with the new fenders or is that unsafe? I do not do any unsafe driving or Autocross.



Ideas? Comments?

the fenders may not fit right on with no modifications, the finish obviously wont match



other then that only you can decide if you want the flare or not

Seeing as I HAVE the AIT (B-Magic) fenders, let me warn you now...there is NO difference in the width when it comes to letting you put wider wheels on. What this means to you is that your stock wheels will fit just the same as they do now.



Also, fitment is a bit of a PITA. I never got mine to fit quite right, plus I got them with the understanding that the 30mm flare should cover my 17x9 wheels up front. No dice.



They're not bad, but expect to have to do some work to get them to fit perfectly. I know it's possible to make them look good as I've seen AITs black FC up close.

I say get the dented fender fixed, then fix the other fender as well.



Or at least get a quote on fixing the other small dent before making a decision.

I say trash the fenders, its not worth the time, effort, or money to finesse an available, bolt on part. Go to the boneyard and get a pair.



Its not an FD ya know.

Spacers will mess up your scrub raduis and ruin the handling.

I will keep this stuff in mind while I make my final desicion.



I have access to a couple of very cheap painters who do very good work so I'm not too worried about the finish.

I have decided against spacers from all of the bad things I have read about them. I'm sure they would be fine for this aplication but I would rather be safe.

My expierence comes from fitting aftermarket parts on cars, not those specifically, but plenty of others.

I don't doubt you. I've heard that these bumpers are the best fitting fenders sold other than stock. Reese is the first person I have heard negative feedback from.



I plan on test fitting them on my parts car that is lacking fenders anyways and if I don't like the fit I will hopefully be able to turn around and sell them.
