why the LOL?

if you want to build a unique hot rod and are tired of chevy small blocks, put what the car should have in it, a real hot rod motor and it will still be a ford.

Flat heads are way cool, but still not original enough for me. I would like to build another highboy with a flat head in it.

Like I said before, the car is what I call "junkyard engineered," meaning its got all kinds of parts from different makes and models already on it. The guy that build the chassis and body worked in a junkyard and got the cream of the crop when it came to parts coming in. I still think its worthing doing the extra work and put something off the wall in it.

then go real old school and junkyard- put a caddilac or oldsmobile engine in it

Yeah, but I'm pretty set on a rotary. It hasn't been done much if at all in the hotrod world.

Now where is a good place to get some used parts on the net? I need a good used motor and trans. I could go with a reman. but that takes all of the fun out of rebuilding it myself https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Hey I'm glad to see you guys are interested. I wasn't sure what type of reaction I was going to get. It's not a common thing to do what I'm trying to do.

rowtareh,

Space shouldn't really be an issue because I've seen everything form Small Block fords to blown Hemi's in these cars. It's really all about the fabrication.

I don't have any pictures yet, but I'll try and post some in the next month or two.

j9fd3s,

Thanks for laying it out for me like that, it makes it much easier for me.

Is it a big deal to convert the EFI to carburation? I wouldn't think so as long as the air/fuel mixture is right.

Thanks agian,

mR

nope its easy to convert the efi to a carb. 48ida weber or 44 dcoe's is just a phone call and some $$ away

Thanks man, thats what I figured. I'll probably end up fabricating a manifold to use a small 4 barrel Holley or something. I've wondered about putting the carb before turbocharger too, but I don't know how that will work out. I'm not sure if the turbo would screw up the delivery of the mixture or not...

memphisrain 02-23-2006 11:05 PM

Would you mind pm-ing me the details on it? Price, condition, pictures if you've got them.
