Any one know where I can get a new driveshaft for my 86 MT?

PowertrainIndustries 150 Arovists Circle, Brea, CA 92821 (1-800-798-4585). Talk to John. I got a driveshaft for my 87 gxl from these people. Good price, fast shipping, replacable Ujoints. They say the steel one can hold up to atleast 600HP. From CA to TX, I recieved my shaft the day after I ordered.

you can also just get your fixed at a driveshaft shop, look in
the FAQ section for the part # for the ujoints |
do they rebuild the u-joint bearings? i thought they weren't replaceable since the shaft is one peice.
mazdatrix has new aftermarket driveshafts with replaceable u-joints for $242. http://www.mazdatrix.com/g4.htm http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.asp?partnum=2691-704 |

the FAQ section for the part # for the ujoints Here Now, I never posted pics of the install, because it didn't even last one day. The new joints were a bitch to get in (I have access to a press, and I've done dozens of u-joints before). They were VERY tight, and the cross distance didn't seem quite right. I did finally get them hammered in there, but the clips were stressed. Well, mount the bad boy up, drive the 50 miles to work, no problem. Driving home, hit my 120mph stretch, and one of the caps blows out. NOT FUN. Limped home at 20mph the whole way, with the entire car shaking violently. Ended up getting a boneyard shaft for $30 https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif |
