Midnightdriver 05-05-2004 07:37 PM

ok who is the maker for the gage. and describe the pic that you think they show you where the t goes.

telling me the maker of the gage I might be able to do a search and see what your looking at.

drunkin_idiot 05-05-2004 07:41 PM

its some no name gauge off ebay. I dont know. Isnt there a universal way to tap the line for a boost gauge

Midnightdriver 05-05-2004 07:44 PM

yes you can tap one to the manifold you could also tap one where you would tap a boost controler (off the nip on the turbo) you just want the best place to get an accurate boost and vac reading so the manifold is the best bet.

drunkin_idiot 05-05-2004 07:46 PM

whats the thing on the manifold look like that i can tap it to.

Midnightdriver 05-05-2004 07:49 PM

look for a vac port with no hose going to it it might be on the back of the manifold (fire wall side) find a vac port with just cap on it try that

damn where is someone that has hooked a gage up to a T2...I'm running off what was done on other cars.

drunkin_idiot 05-05-2004 07:51 PM

alright brb ima go and try to look at it.

drunkin_idiot 05-05-2004 08:08 PM

Midnightdriver 05-05-2004 08:41 PM

try this it might help you out a little its for auto meter but it shoud do the trick it has written instructions on it and a pic. http://www.egauges.com/pdf/AutoMeter/247e.pdf

it has a lot of gages just keep going till you find it.

drunkin_idiot 05-05-2004 09:20 PM

Boost sensor?

drunkin_idiot 05-05-2004 09:30 PM

yah i spliced it between the boost sensor and the IM and im reading like 20 vac at idle and like 5 lbs of boost at like 3500rpms

RONIN FC 05-05-2004 09:33 PM

Your only runnin about 7-8 stock. You have a boost controller?

so does it sound right to be runnin 20 vac at idle and about 5 lbs at 3500-4000rpm

cloead 05-05-2004 11:16 PM

are you stock? close to stock? if so, yes.

Midnightdriver 05-06-2004 10:47 AM

I hope that what I posted helped. and yes at your alt 20 vac is good I was pulling more in my turbo subie now get a boost cont. and turn it up a psi or 2 but not much. the shop manuals say not to go over 14 when doing a check. so run it at 9-10 psi

drunkin_idiot 05-06-2004 02:07 PM

I just want to say, THIS FORUM ******* ROX THE KAZZBA!!! You guys have helped me so much. Thanks alot guys. But um one question, I thought stock T2's ran 7psi stock how come the gauge says only 5, and you said 5 is good stock.

NCTII87 05-08-2004 09:47 AM

think about the age of the car and the wear and tear on it, you probably wont get full boost anymore but 5 lbs is still decent, drive it and see what you get.
