I am exchanging my current power steering pump which is leaking, for a different one which of course does not leak.

I went to remove the pressure hoses off the top (soft metal tubing). One of them came off just fine. The other mother ******* son of a bitch won't budge. I accidentally rounded two corners on the nut trying to break it loose. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif It won't move. And yes, I was turning it the right way and yes I did use a spray lubricant, to no avail.

I need to be able to reuse these if possible. Any suggestions? If I can get a hold of new metal tubing and the nuts for these I can just cut the hoses and install different ones also but I would rather not.

Any help?

Is it difficult to change out the power rack for a manual one? That maybe my next option is just get rid of the power steering all together.

try vise grips.

They would have to be a pretty small pair to fit into the area. My strut tower bar goes right acroos the top and that was a bitch in itself to install because it braces with the firewall. I don't want to remove it. But I will try. Thanks

I have my power steering pump removed. why don't you want to remove yours? its not hard to drive at all.

I would love to remove it. Do you have to change out the power steering rack for a manual one or can you just remove the pump?

Not having the power steering fluid flowing through the power steering rack won't harm anything?

Also, do you just cap off the hoses or completely remove them?

You don't HAVE to change the rack. I removed the lines and pump. Then I used bolts to block off the holes. I wish the rx7club was up. We have a butt load of writeups over there. :(

You have to loop the lines on the rack too keep the seal from blowing out...unless you're me and like to ruin stuff.

So, you take the pressure lines from the pump and loop them with the return line that goes back to the pump? Any fluid in this loop?
