you say "i dont know if the car needs some P/S fluid"

******* CHECK IT, idiot, lol.

Check the fluid, check the tension on the belt.

The brakes, once again- are the shims there? Did you get some shims yet?

Did you at least try some anti-squel on the back of the pads?

Are they the right pads? Is the hardware intact?

My advice-

-get some new pads, I dont care how new your pads are

-get a hardware kit with teflon shims.

-get your rotors turned.

Your talking a total of about $60 for all that with some

el-cheapo brake pads, if you cant afford $60 for your brakes,

you shouldnt be driving the car. Never mind if you hurt yourself, you

might hurt someone else.
**** YOU ROB!!!!!!

Yo who the **** u think you are telling me i SHOULDNT drive my car cause i dont got ******* $60 to buy **** for my car. YOu dont know my ******* situation so dont go popping ****...Go **** yourself, and eat a DIck mothafuckkkkkkka....

JazeR RX Motha******* 7!!!
at least my bicycle comment didnt set you off, I ride a bicycle to work, it's good exercise and free... lets my car get finished before I start driving it.

seriously though, if you're short on cash, a old FC isn't the most practical solution for transportation. But any car is going to need regular maintenance like brake pads and such... if those are hard to afford to keep the car safe even, then something has to give, either a cheaper form of transportation or more income.
i dont mean to be rude but I moved out on my own, i only work 2 days a week if im lucky. And even if i wanted to work more hours i cant i am taking summer classes...I owe Money for the car insurance, Phone bill, and other things like Rent....so todayi got my check it was $113.00 and $10 went on an umbrela cause i got caught in midtown today in a big storm and if i didnt get back to my car i was gonna get a $55 ticket!!. And $100 went to my phone bill which im 2 months behind on. So i am REALLLLLLLLLY^ tight on money.....And it ticks me off cause i wantt to know the cheapest thing to check first. Last time i jumped to all the advice i got like..

1) u need a new battery. I went and bought one whnen i just needed a tune up

so i spent like $300 more than i needed too..

2) i dont know everything there is to know bout a car. i Wished i can chil with my car 5 hours a day fixing and finger ******* her but i cant. If not not studying , werking or doing errands then im with my car.

3) No time

SO thats the dily i know it shouldnt matter but my car has really been acting up to the point that i think i need to buy all NEW parts and put em on cuase one thing is gonna lead to the other and i dont got money to spend like that. so i wanna se the cheapest way by inspecting and altercatiion than by buying new **** and winding up that its not what i needd nah mean..

ight whateva blah blahblah...

i have two bikes i have a K2 and a Diamond back . the K2 is worth $700 and the BMX is worth like $250..Why dont i sell em u say...No one wants to pay me $250 for a BMX cause it doesnt say GT ( **** gary turner he is gay) the K2 i got cheap cause i worked at a bike shop and im not selling it cause i use it for excersise..!!

peace

I'd definately check the fluid like Rob suggested...you're only gonna know if you pop the hood. Geoffman72 had some good suggestions about the brakes...Check the lugnuts are tight...Then pull the wheel off and inspect the caliper and pads. There should be 2 small spring like hinges that hold the pads in place...perhaps one of those flicked off and is "ticking" against something...See if you can spin the wheel (or rotor) freely...hopefully its not a caliper sticking...

Its definately not a morale booster for anyone when stuff goes wrong on their car. Everyone enjoys putting mods on to make the car better...but I'm sure no one favors fixing the little annoying stuff...Hang in there...just go out and look the car over to see what might be wrong...Everyone on here is only taking guesses. Hope it works out ok

Is selling the car and gettign something more reliable a possibility?

I don't mean to sound like an *** but in all serious honesty you could sell the rx-7 and get something like a geo metro. Sure those cars are gay as hell but they get mad mileage which would save you on gas and they would most likely have a cheaper insurance rate. Damn cheap transportation.

Anyways when my car acts up like that i spend at least an hour swearing at it intensely using all the profane words in my vocabulary occasionally combined with hand and body gestures of an obscene manner. It usually doesnt work but hey, its free *shrugs*.

all i know is cars can get expensive to own, especially old ones, and even moreso old imports that arent exactly common.

Look at it this way, you're hardup for cash and you own a car that carquest charges $9 per spark plug for.

Does this make sense?

your a ******* idiot, im giving you GOOD ADVICE, if your brakes

arent working right and neither is your power steering, then dont drive the car if you cant afford a lousy $60.

Cry me a river why dont you, go get a job, get one at night, get something, you dont get **** handed to you on a platter, no one is going

to come along and give you money for nothing, hard work gets results, not sitting on a forum whining like a child. You moved out on your own, big ******* deal, I moved out when I was 17, you dont see me crying, I had 3 jobs, worked wherever I could, and I always had money in my pocket because of it. School doesnt allow you to have a job? Bullshit, your just too lazy to work and study.

Drive your car, I dont give a ****.

p.s- I bet you have money for ciggarettes, going out with your girl, berr/booze, and god knows what else you like to do in your free time right?
