hey guys, i have an 86 n/a gxl. iam wondering what i can do to make this go as quick as possible while maintaining a level of drivability. turbo is not an option for me as the new laws where i live do not allow turbo cars for persons under 22. i neeeed it to go harder! please help me, let me know what can be done. thank you, Daniel.

the government would only know you have a rx7 coupe non turbo via the vin number. unless you need to go threw inspection and have and underhood inspection to get it registered noone would know that its a turbo car. other then a turbo swap you could na 3 rotor swap it and build a 3 rotor na motor with na rotors. you could spray N2O also

yes thats true. but the cops here do vehicle expections on cars like rx7's. plus mine has an orange paint job....which doesnt help. so i need to do something else. how hard would the 3-rotor be? i would need to do tranny and diff as well then ? what can be done to the 13b? thanks

Without spending a ton of money (3-rotor swap), you can have a lot of fun with full exhaust, lightweight flywheel, and most importantly, suspension. Where the car really shines is in it's handling ability.

The question is, what do you want to do with the car? Drag race? Road race? Autocross? Just street driving?

find some 4.88 rear end gears.. i swapped mine from 4.10s to 4.88s and it made the car so much quicker, and a lot more fun to drive..

you liked you 4.88? we have a 5.12 in ower race car and the car with that rear gear pulls so freakin hard.

I switched from 17" wheels to 15" wheels for autocross, had the same kind of effect, without killing my gas mileage for everyday driving. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif
