I made a "quick" stop on the way home from work tonight. When I came back out I tried to start but it was flooded(go figure). It is a new motor so this is common yet. I clicked off my fuel relay switch which I learned about here on the forum. That's where things went different than normal.

Typically I shut off the switch and add a little throttle pedal and it pops off. This time it just cranked but didn't fire. I tried with the switch on and off but no firing at all.

Next I pulled out my handy LED code checker which I built from info on this forum. There were no lights when I turned on the key. Having shorted a wire when initially installing the fuel cut off switch I knew that the 15 amp "engine" fuse may be the culprit. Sure enough the fuse was blown. I substituted it with the wiper fuse which blew immeadiately also. I checked and messed around with the engine harness and disconnected the alternator 2-prong plug. With another fuse swap it started and I drove home.

When I got home I shut it off and reconnected the Alternator connector. The fuse blew again.

Other than "don't drive at night " and "Charge the battery a lot" does anyone have any good ideas?

I'll probably check that fuel cut off switch but why would the Alternator make a difference? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

yeah, i'd check your switch first...

then you need to bust out the diagram, and see where that wire goes

Good news! It must have been the switch. I had shrink tubing on the wire ends but something must have still contacted the steering column. Two chuncks of duct tape later and no more episodes...
