I'm going to trade/sell my 95 Grand Prix GTP (no boos please) and intend to buy a 2nd gen RX7. I'm just wondering what kind of things I should look out for when buying a rotary engine. i.e. idle speed, oil leaks, any ways to detect bad compression... Also what would be a smarter choice, a turbo or not?

Nice site btw

turbo car sometimes have more problems. it all depends on the condition of the car and how much you have to spend. in my mind you should expect things to break and then be happy when they don't. atleast that's how i look at sports cars https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png turbo cars will obviously have much more potential to faster but also more potential for parts to fail. N/A's have better reliability https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Good choice on the 2nd gen. The turbos are faster with more problems, and the NAs are slower with less problems. Thats the best way to sum it up. If you go with a turbo, I'd have it compression checked and make sure it seems to run good, and check for any oil coming from the exhaust after the car has been warmed up and driven...if there is an excess amount of oil...the turbo is probably gone.

A rx7 is just like any other sports car, they will need maintenance, and you should always go over the car good before buying and have an idea of what it will need(if anything).
