Hey yall, im relitively new to autosports and this is my first post on this site or and rotary site for that matter. But i know alittle of what im talkin about so here's my question.
As far as diff strength goes, what is the average the N/A's rear holds out to? I was looking into doing a 302 swap and i was concerned about it toasting before too long. From what ive seen, all (or most) are open diffs which isnt that big of a deal, i wouldnt expect this car to be doing anything over 350-400 whp on spray. I know TurboII rears are chill, and from what ive seen a new diff in those will last to low 10s. But, as far as availability goes, i was wondering if i could get away with the stock diff. Also, ive seen 8.8 swap kits from granny. I was wondering, are those worth looking into? From what i saw on other forums, they are complete junk but i wanted ur guy's take. |
the na rear in a 1st gen or miata is good for 11's. fc's dont seem to be as strong though. its gonna break when you dump the clutch with slicks...

or when you dump on good street tires.

so, its offical, very very bad idea? well, off turboII hunting i guess lol https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

or a granny speed 8.8 solid axle kit.

i cant make a na diff last with the stock na 13b rotary, so i seriously doubt you could make it last with a v8. you wont regret using a TII diff, but you will also need the TII tranny, driveshaft, and axleshafts. and why not keep it rotary??
