hey whats up everyone.. some people have been wanting to see pics of my turbo 6 port. so here is a couple. The stuff I have done to it are:

street ported 13B 6port

60-1 T04E turbo

turbonetics racegate

custom exhaust manifold.

HKS SS BOV

custom intercooler piping

big NPR intercooler

A'pexi S-AFC II

550cc turbo II injectors on secondaries

bigger fuel lines

87 turbo II lower and upper intake manifold.

custom 4" DP

3" catback exhaust with no cats.

all stock NA drivetrain

walbro fuel pump

In about a week or two im going to have a Haltech E6X installed and tuned. right now its untuned with a 3-5 psi spring. ive just did little adjustments to the afc to get it running alright for what it has now..

Nice!

I don't know if I may be missing something, but wouldn't the turbo LIM be 4-port? Or were there 6-port TII's? Also, any plans for beefing up the drive train?

sidewinderx7 01-09-2004 08:22 AM

the t2 LIM is 4 port. It'll be interesting to see how his drive train holds up to the power. Who knows, might kill of those nasty myths about it not being able to handle the power. but i doubt it.... lol

good job, and good luck!

cafcwest 01-09-2004 12:05 PM

The 13BT LIM is a 4 port whereas the motor is a 6-port. However, the manifold fits right on. What you have is on the manifold one big port and on the motor, it is feeding into two smaller ports. Of course, If you had the motor apart, I guess you could knifeedge the area between the Pri. and Sec. ports to create a smooth flow between the two.

This is what I know from playing around with manifolds and spare engines and such....I'd like to hear exactly what you did.

or maybe get it on a dyno?

isamu 01-09-2004 12:40 PM

Looks good. How do you have the oil feed and return setup?

well first i port matched the turbo II manifold to fit the 6 port engine.. and i have huge street ports on the engine so it fits up just like a 4 port engine perfect against the manifold. I wish I had taken pics of how I port matched the manifold and how the engine is ported so you can see how it fits on. and as for the drivetrain.. I have a turbo II parts car sitting here at my house that im using all the parts off of. So im going to put a turbo II tranny with the 6 puck clutch it had in it. turbo II driveshaft and rear end. I got a broken diff mount so i need to have it re-welded back solid. I wont really launch the car with the stock drivetrain. This is my daily driver car and I have to wait till a day I could just put some slicks on it and launch it at the track just to see if it holds up so I can do the tranny swap. As for dyno sheets, Ill scan them from when im tuning the car on the haltech in a week or two. but I know that now pushing the 5psi that its well over 200hp to the wheels. and the price ive spent on it so far is probably around 1500-2000 dollars, which is not a bad price considering this car 2 months ago had about 103hp to the wheels https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif ill try to get a video online and post it up somewhere so everyone can see it.

Im running a stainless steel braided line that I tapped into the oil feed line of the oil cooler for the oil feed line.. and I tapped a nipple into the top of the front cover which feeds down into the oil pan for a oil return line.

nice now i can tell this dumb newbie that turboIIs can have 5th & 6th ports also....he though he was so special cause he had them 5th & 6th ports.

All turboII's are 4ports.

Na's are 6-ports.

Na car and 6port engine + turbo = not turboii.

is that 1500-2000 in parts tha new one like tha new t-04 an stuff like that?

FaztAzzGXL 01-12-2004 09:12 AM

well I got a really good price on a turbo. The 60-1 brand new was 300 and I later found out that its a ball bearing turbo so I really lucked out. Mine is a NA 6 port engine with a nice size turbo on it that runs really good.. and who says you cant turbo a 6 port???? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

JLB 01-13-2004 06:47 PM

Check out my avatar - it's a 6 port turbo II intake.... Worked very well - broke a lot of parts on down the driveline while I had it in.

Apex13B 01-13-2004 08:50 PM

its broken driveline time!

I've broken my verts drive almost totally twice, i'm scared to turbo it lol

Well, if you didn't know, then why did you post? Honestly, what did you think you were contributing by posting something you obviously had no clue about?

And really, where do you get off calling someone a dumb newb when it was you, who was in fact, wrong. Which one of you looks dumber with a post like that/

Not only was your post wrong, but immature and simply poorly thought out. Please think before you open your mouth in the future.

believe it or not. ive actually had mine for a little over 2 months and the only thing thats messed up was the rear diff mount. I know it will happen soon though.. but oh well.

Well, my first failure was the clutch - it would slip bad under boost until it had some heat in it and even then it was marginal. Secaond failure was the tranny - stripped all the teeth off the input shaft gear and mating countershaft gear. Final failure was the diff. I do not shift hard or do burnouts - all of these failures were while making a good bit of boost in either 2nd or 3rd gear.

Jason

i.didnt.do.it 01-14-2004 10:01 AM

^ ouch. What diff is that?

JLB 01-14-2004 11:35 AM

That was a non-turbo diff (GTU-s actually) behind a turbocharged 6 port... There is a reason that the turbo cars had different clutches, trannies, and diffs. But boost is so much fun!
