Yea...need some more info... ignore rfreeman,lol..we're here for your headaches! Is it idling on it's own..are the belts tightened correctly... what ecu are you using...

double check that each wire is on the right plug and make sure your coil packs are good and shizzle. you may need to restab the cas too.

well its a camden SC for a carb. im not sure which pulley(s) are not lining up. im using my stock ecu for what wires i need, it was idling on my own, but not sure now, the disributor cap is on it now, im gonna try and put the stock distributor back in it today with the factory coil packs, see what that will do, ill post back up after i do that. if anyone has ANY advice at all, plz email me at fc3ssupercharged@aol.com thanx!

The stock ecu uses alot of the sensors for timing, I had major timing issues when I tried to use the OEM computer for just ignition purposes

Personally I would toss in the dizzy in and be done with it

Agreed, why would you wanna run the OEM ECU?

project D 10-14-2005 09:14 AM

actually im using it for the alternator, winsheild wipers, and the temperature gauge. i bought the whole system used, the car it was in was using the stock ecu the same way. i know everything is good, its just a real bitch to get all wired up. im no rotorhead, but my best friend who is put it all together for me, but when it came to the distributor cap and wiring up the MSD, he foze and was lost, and to be honest so am i.

you dont need to use the ecu to run any of that equiptment. actually you need to use the dizzy to make it right. now that you are carbed the ecu is deadweight. check what the others said, plug wires, correct dizzy alignment, etc. do you have a manual for the car? do you know the correct way to install it? set your leading at about 15 degrees and start tuning carb and timing from there. you also should look real hard at upgrading the ignition. ive got to go to town with the wife but let me know what queastions you have. ive been there and done that with a couple carbed fc setups. i can explain more later if you need it.
